A month ago i had new pads and discs allround on my civic, all done at a Honda garage.

Ive justhad to get the AA to take my car back to the garage because one of my brakes has worn down to meta from new.

It has gone to a different Honda garage and they said that they wont replace under warranty because they are not Honda parts, and that the brake failure was caused by the parts not being Honda parts. That the compound on the pad failed.

I Had prevously had a check done on the brakes at kwik fit, and they suggested that it was the calipers.

The question i have is, should the 1st Honda garage have used none genuine Honda parts and secondly, is the 2nd Honda garage palming me off and forcing me to pay for new pads and discs so they dont have to replace the calipers?

Thanks for any advice in advance.

just finished on the phone with both 1st and 2nd garage, seems they have joined sides and im stuck.

As for the pads, it was only 1 pad on one side. They are now saying, that this one pad was a lot older than all the others. But i had it done at a mates garage, and i helped him do it, so i know for a fact that they were all new.

I might have to get up close and personal to sort this out.

Also, they are now saying the discs are genuine parts. Is there a part number on the discs i can check to confirm this?

yeah sorry for confusion, the pads on the rear were replaced a few months ago, now honda replaced the discs and cleaned up the pads that were on, that i had replaced.

Anyways the pads have now been replaced again, but by honda, and the scored and gouged discs remain on the car, apparently this is ok. Their words not mine. I honestly hope they fail again so i can take them to the wall.
