Reflecting on my recent purchase of my Civic Type S GT which to me was a hell of a lot of my hard earned. I think my experience didn't meet the Honda hype I am a real big Honda fan. Test drive in car was rushed and the salesman rushed of to try his luck at selling a prestige car (Later found out he failed:)) the rest of deal was done few days later with salesman and I believe the sales manager/coordinator over the phone.Deal was struck price agreed etc. few days pass a big row erupts after 4 different people tell me 4 different stories of why my reg transfer has gone wrong maybe I should have pulled the plug on deal then:rolleyes:.

When collecting car I feel we was rushed a little when checking car the compressor and puncture fluid was missing the usb also they was quickly found and we was sent on merry way.

So waffling over how was your Honda buying experience ? did you get any kind of welcome to the Honda family pack or letter ? did you get the mileage certificate proof of no finance etc ? how about a tank of fuel flowers for the wife ? On the plus side they didnt try selling me extended warranty service packs or such like.

I must point out I love the car I have a couple of little niggles which I will sort out with dealer or Honda

So how was your purchase ?

I would recommend Fish Brothers as they offer a wide selection of used cars and new cars. They are a family owned car dealer group in Swindon that you can trust for quality, value and choice.
+1 we got the crz there and everything was spot on unlike when we got the FN2 a month ago and they let stevie wonder clean this and then think its good never mind the other issues I found and that was Gilders Honda Rotherham (named and shamed)

Tracking was out even though i asked for this to be done, got home and found the rear quater panal in the car was smashed and had fist size glued hole at the side of the rear seat, gear gaiter damaged and honda paid for repair under warrenty for this so they also lost money here, usb lead missing, wipers did not wipe away water or anything else for that matter, bonnet sound proofing insecure due to broken clip, front arch had a broken clip so did not fit nice and tight, car was supposed to had been cleaned but was mud on pedals, grass under rear seats, and mud under rear spoiler amongst more so i doubt it even saw half a bucket of water. I asked them about a boot mat carpet you can buy and the told me it does not fit the FN2 yet our local dealer got me this and it fits great.

Fishbrothers Honda Swindon I could not find one fault or bad comment the service was just first class and top notch.

dont agree but if they had inspected the car better and maybe cleaned it for more than 10 seconds they would maybe have found all our problems and sorted them before I had the pleasure, I mean how hard is it to check the wipers wipe and clean the window never mind wash the car?

Are you sure youre not referring to one in Bradford??
Bradford dealer is painful but never bought a car from them. Bought mine from Holdcroft, due to distance secured with a phone deposit. Was assured it was in mint condition and had had all the recalls done (handbrake and fuel cap at that time).

Got there at 9am as agreed didn't leave until 5pm after they had prepped the car as two wheels and the passenger door were damaged. Wouldn't mind but the delivery sheet listed the damage and was left in the glovebox. Also none of the recalls had been done.

I've found it varies from dealer to dealer with all the different dealers I've dealt with. My local Toyota and Skoda dealers were absolutely spot on when my other half was looking for a new car. The Fiat dealer we dealt with lost themselves a sale though because the sales guy didn't take us seriously. Not interested in giving us any details when we were there, promised to call us, never did, Mrs chased the guy up, still no call back. She ended up buying a Toyota instead and filing a complaint against the sales chap.

No experience with any Honda dealers though although I'm told good things about the Honda dealer in Dorchester.

Got mine from Honda Christchurch froma chap called Matt!
He was very helpful - I wasn't sure if he believed me that I was going to buy the car as I turned up in a damaged punto! But, a few days later the deposit was down and I was helped through the deal as I had a few problems. Afterwards, I found some damage on the car and it was booked in the next week for repairs!
Now I hope the same happens for all these sodding chips on the bonnet...

Wow I had it easy, popped into my dealer at about 10am to check out a type r the nice chap Dean litteraly said "it's a lovely car" then proceeded to take my licence chuck me the keys and said "we close at 6". When I got back at about 4pm he saw me pull up but didn't come hassle me, he left me prod and poke and didn't bother me till I went to find him. I told him I wanted to think about it (had already made my mind up really) and I was shocked when he just said "ok mate enjoy your evening" needless to say I was back up to see him the next morning cheque book in hand. He managed to get the car all cleaned and ready for collection whithin a couple of days. When I collected the car he spent the best part of an hour showing me everything and even called me two weeks after I collected the car to make sure I was happy with everything.

I'm a very happy man and such a relaxed environment made buying my type r a pleasure :popcorn2:
