Hello :)

Has anyone from Glasgow/Paisley had their callipers painted professionaly or at least so they look decent?

If so how much am i looking at to get this done?

Has anyone got any pics of a Alabaster Silver with painted callipers they can show me? any colour

Ive got the sky blue fog protectors from on the guy on here so im thinking blueish to go with them but im not certain just looking for a bit of advice what will look best and to see some on a silver car as mostly only saw red on black.

Cheers guys!!!

what paint do you need to do this yourself? Is it just a case of remove the caliper, clean it up then apply the chosen paint with a brush, dry and refit?

I used Halfords caliper paint. Give them a clean with a wire brush attached to a drill and some caliper cleaner (also from Halfords) and give them a couple of coats. Simples :D

Also a good idea to get a very generous friend to clean your wheels inside out whilst they are off the car....

Do it yourself rather than paying someone to do it as it's extremely easy :D

How long did it take you to do all 4 yourself? i recon i could persuade a mate to help me out if i gave him some beer in exchange to speed up the cleaning part :D

I never even thought to do it myself but urs look great.. i love the colour also i might end up copying u haha hope u dont mind! the blue center caps on ** alloys are a nice touch aswell :D where did you get them if you dont mind me asking?

How difficult was the removal before painting/getting them back on?

Thanks for ** help :D

You can also use normal primer, paint and lacquer that you could get from halfrauds.
Mask out the bits you don't want painting then off you go - obviously after cleaning them off

Doing all four took about 3 hours or so, I also blackmailed a mate (wheel cleaner) with beer to give me a hand. It really does help if you have two people so one can be cleaning the calipers with the wire brush whilst the other paints.

If you like the blue colour, I used this paint....
Halfords | Halfords Brake Caliper Paint - Blue 250ml

No problem at all with you copying the idea, I did mine blue cause I have blue fog protectors, blue center caps and blue civic sticker on the back. There's a very nice gentleman on the forum called Gers who you will find in the traders section that makes the center cap H's along with some other goodies (have a look at my build thread for more pics of the blue stuff).

Here's a link to Ger's thread...

I left the calipers on to paint them which is fine as long as you are careful to stay away from the pads/discs. Getting the dirt off before painting was easy, just spray some brake cleaner on and use the wire brush attachment on a drill to give it a good clean.

You can just see it if you zoom in.
