Hi all,

I'm looking to get hold of a kit, or cable to connect my mp3 to the civic's soundsystem (as the radio has an aux in function, but no obvious jack).

I had a look around the back of the console, and saw this socket (image attached).

Can anyone tell me what this is for, and if it could be used for ipod connectivity.

Many thanks

Brendan

It's the OBD2 connection, On-board diagnostics, used to read faults codes / data

Nothing to do with the stereo

Ah okay makes sense, thanks Bench.

I'll leave that part of the car alone then I think, but was wondering whilst on topic, what people may recommend for getting an aux in connection to this type of civic. I have searched the forum and seen a few suggestions for the kits which seem easy enough to install.

I had assumed however that it could just be a case of a simple audio cable which plugs into the ipod jack one end, and into the aux in jack on the back of the stereo.

I put in the honda iPod adapter, the sound quality is faultless but has limited connectivity, ( no .3.5mm aux or sd or USB ) but I plug in iPhone and works a treat
