I have noticed i seem to need to get closer and closer to my car to open it so im assuming the battery is on its way out.I tried to open the key with no joy so took it to the local watch man and he couldnt get it open either.

anyone got any ideas or had it done at honda at a price? i don't want to drill it out and brake the key:(

Just take the one screw out and then you should be able to pry it open. There's a little indent on the side of the key to stick a screwdriver or similar in.

My screw head was rounded off when I got it, used a 2.5mm drill bit with the drill on reverse go very slowly and carefully but you do need to apply some pressure. When the bit bites it will unscrew, I replaced mine with a m2 pan head screw we have loads at work, I can post you a couple if you like just pm me.
