The 3 year lease on my Honda civic finished a week ago. I thought about getting another civic but would prefer something slightly larger in size so started looking for an accord.

I am looking to get the exec 2.2 diesel and have seen one which isn't too far away from me. it is a 57 plate with 57k miles on the clock and has FHSH with just 1 owner and is selling for £6200. It is a trade car but I am not sure how reputable the company is. It is a small company as they are selling cars from their home it seems.

As I am not sure how well the car has been looked after and I don't know enough about what to look out for on these models I was wondering if I should get the AA/RAC to inspect the vehicle for me before I buy. The inspection costs about £150. Can anyone recommend them? On a similar note what should I look out for before I buy?

Thanks in advanced

Come pay us a visit over at www.typeaccord.co.uk all the answers to your questions are available in abundance.

Check for fumes in the cabin (cracked manifold), rattling timing chain and slipping clutch.

Aside from that, usual signs of crash damage and ensure the service history is consistent with the rest of the car.
