I had an accident last wednesday and got a call back today saying the car is a write off! It needed a few parts replacing and that was it..

Wings, bonnet, bumper, headlights, grill and radiator... surely its cheaper to just repair the car than to write it off?!

Anyways it was taken to a there specialist garage.. They havent given me a value of the car yet...

I've contacted one of the guys where I normally have my work done and he said he does repairs and has an engineer and would try to repair the car and avoid it from being written off.

I'm just wondering since the insurance companys engineer already decided it was a total loss, can I tell them I would like to take them to another garage and have them look at the car? The garage I go to is actually an accident repair centre so they know what theyre doing.

Thanks in advance guys.

Sorry to read about your accident mate hope no one was hurt. Yeah it's definately worth a shot if you & your local garage believe it can be fixed then go for it. Don't let the insurance people try & convince you otherwise they will give you a flat rate price for the car anyway. Hope you get it fixed & back on the road soon ;)
