So you're going to spend out on a new clutch and there's a possibility it won't cure it. Mine still does it even after a new clutch and flywheel. Like I said, once the oil is up to operating temperature, it's all fine. If yours is the same, leave it. Especially for the sake of chucking money around that you don't need to.
Yes I'd be tempted by just changing the gearbox oil and living with the car until the clutch starts slipping or becomes difficult to drive.

Or get a second opinion.

Update: The clutch pedal started feeling loose on some cold mornings which suggests it could be the master cylinder going, not leaking and clutch not slipping.

Anyway got the master cylinder changed and so far all good. Gear change is very smooth now and I can change gears in the cold instead of waiting for it to warm up which was very annoying especially going to work in the morning and having to wait 10-15 minutes before being able to drive
