quick easy reseating gone wrong..

I currently use Mr Jp's sidelights- one of them was playing up so this afternoon I decided to reseat the connector. My main beam light was also not seated correctly so I disconnected and reconnected the bulb.
Tested bulbs and its working fine (without ignition on). I had the lights on for about an hour as I was levelling them out with the adjusters. Took a while.

Fitted everything back together and re-tried lights; sidelights not working anymore. I also noticed my rear lights had stopped...bummer.
So I checked the manual and it pointed to fuse 15 (7.5amp). Obviously I didnt have a spare so I decided to use the rear fog fuse 20 (also 7.5amp-which I rarely use) and took that one out and placed it in fuse 15.

Tested rear lights and working. Checked front sidelights and nothing. Its now getting dark so I decided to check main beam working which was ok and decided to sort it out later on the in the week.

Come to start the car- Key in, all the normal lights on dash- no errors. press START and it chuckles...
I tried several times and the same. I switched on the lights (with the key in ignition) and they flicker... especially when set to auto. Now i'm scratching my head thinking what the heck went wrong....

My car was sitting idle for 4 days last week and with over an hour of lights switched on the battery maybe flat or not enough charge to get the car started. I've left the car battery charging from the mains and will try once fully charged.

My conerns:
What caused the fuse to blow? Me being an idiot and may have shorted something by accident?
The headlights flickering on AUTO, never happened before.. whats the cause?
After a full charge and IF the car doesnt start what shall I do next?
Is it possible that FUSE 2 under the bonnet (Headlight Main/Ignition Switch Main) has gone? If it has where can I get a replacement asap?

Just charged car for 3 hours. Tried starting and it worked fine! I'm going to leave it charging over night to fully charge the battery.

Glad it's sorted :)

The 1.8's battery is pretty weak... I've been caught out a couple of times, so gonna upgrade to a more powerful one.

lolz.. its the Bosch battery which I fitted about 1.5 years ago. This is what confused me.

I had the car sitting for 4 days last week and with 1 hours main beam on, kinda caused it to drop very low.

I was wondering what the Bosch battery is like.... I guess quite good if you had the main beams on that long!

The charge in mine gets to low after about 15min with just the radio on :(

TBH, if you had left it for a wee while with everything off it probably would have started when you went back to it;), you just ran it down by using main beam for so long without engine running.

ive lleft my civ for more than 2 weeks whilst on holand she started 1st turn of the key.;)
