Hello Civinfo users!

I'm new to the forum, so hopefully I've chosen the right place to ask.

I bought a Civic which seems to have the official iPod adaptor installed into the AUX/CDC line in the back of the head unit. I make this assumption because my iPod displays the Honda logo when I plug it in.

What I've done is bought this 3.5mm to iPod 30-pin adaptor off Amazon, and connected it to my phone and the iPod adaptor.

The music plays fine!!! But...

The dashboard displays CDC Error and flashes, as you can see in the photo. It doesn't 'give up' and go away, it just keeps flashing for the whole journey despite playing the music.

What I'd like to know is how can I suppress this message if at all, or which pins I need to short/cover to stop the iPod socket accessory trying to be 'smart' and talk to a device on the other end, rather than just acting as an analogue pass through.

Many thanks in advance!
