Hello all,

I hope everyone has had a good xmas. I have a very annoying rattle and was wondering if anyone has had it and has a solution.

Basically at high speed (70mph) the central vent rattles like you wouldn't beleive. The only way I can stop it is firmly pressing down on the central section (picture attached) but as soon as I take my finger off it starts again! Its driving me mad! I have looked on Lings and the central vent secion is £192, But im not even sure if replacing that will fix the issue.

Any ideas anyone?

Try some silicone spray.
Spray on a small artists brush and work well in and around the joints.
Never heard of that, I'll give it a go! Thanks mate!

If you don't have it, try some WD40 if you have some.
Will do the same job, but will dry out more quickly and therefore won't last as long.;)

It went to Honda today, they looked at it and said the vent behind is broken hence the rattle!

They tried to put in warranty claim to no avail so wanted £200+!

So I rang HUK and complained. HUK are paying for the fix. Happy days!

Just clutch noise then no more issues with car!

Yowzer, 200 pounds! Thats a shame as my car suffers from the same problem.. it is however intermittent.

I don't think I will ever buy a second hand honda again. It is too expensive to get all the annoying squeaks and rattles out without having any kind of decent warranty.
