Currently insured with LV for the modified 2.2 (as per signature) and renewal was a reasonable £305. However, after asking to add a stealth grill (Honda part) it shot to £368. The thing only cost me £160 in the first place!

I tried Chris Knott (already insuring the CTR) and was given a price of £277.50 - great I thought, until I realised that they'd forgot to add the remap. At which point the cost rocketed to over £400.

Tried Greenlight also but they want > £450.

Anyone know of any others to try - need to get it sorted before the 15th

Unfortunately there are many variables that are taken into consideration, so near on impossible to say X company are cheap. Age/area being 2 of the main factors. Just a case of shopping around, good luck.

I would personally delete everything you've said in this thread and then just insure without declaring the grill. It's just a grill, and should not jump your insurance up by that much, it's ridiculous. Especially as it's a Honda part. I assume you're talking about the sports grill?

I agree its a ridiculous increase, but I'm not keen on not declaring everything, just in case I end up in a large crash and the insurance ends up being invalidated.

If it's an optional extra then tbh I can't see any scenario whereby it would invalidate your warranty in the event of an accident. If it's a Honda part then how are you to know that it doesn't come as standard? You'd have to be VERY unlucky to be penalised in that situation.

Gave Adrian Flux a call and initially the price of £277 seemed good! However, they'd forgotten to add in the remap, which took it considerably higher!

Unfortunately, I ran out of time so had to renew with LV and get ripped off to the tune of £358
