Hello,

I apologize if I've posted in the wrong subforum..

I've turned on the display of warning messages in the travel computer and every now and then when starting the engine, first start of the day, I'd get a "Check system" message. It doesn't happen all that often, every couple of days.

Before the messages were turned off, I didn't notice anything, waited for the check engine light to off, turned on the engine and drove away.

Is this just a notification message that it's running a quick diagnostic on all the components or should I be worried ?

It's a 8th gen 2.2 diesel.

Thank you!

The CEL/MIL is a warning to tell you that something is wrong with the emission system on the car.

Without a scan tool it is hard to tell what it is.
You need to know the code before you can start diagnosing it.
