I have a 2008 Type R and have a problem with one of my keys appearing to be out of sync with the car. Basically when I got the car it came with 2 keys. 1 key is used constantly and works fine. The other was kept as a spare.
I went to use the spare key and found it would not unlock the car - I assumed the battery in the key had gone dead and put in a new battery.
With the new battery fitted the red light on the key lights up when I press the buttons but the key will not lock or unlock the car.
Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you get round it?
Look forward to receiving any suggestions any of you out there may have.

I'm away from the pc so can't quote the way to sync it. Do a quick google search and it'll come up.

Basically there's a sequence of button presses you need to do and it'll work. I had the same issue with mine when I got the car.

With most cars not just Civics this is common but I have always had to have a recode done. That's why I swap my spare over ever 2 months even if for 1 lock unlock.

Doesn't help now I know!
