Ok so ive had the fn2 for 15 months now, and ive not attempted a build thread. out of lazyness mainly, but instead of whacking random posts up everytime i get something done, ive decided im at least gonna consolidate it all here so here goes!

So i started with a 2008 GT model in alabaster silver, totally standard and had no intention of changing anything other than tires. Then i joined civinfo and i caught the bug. so i started with a few small mods:

Civinfo sticker
Skunk2 gear knob
HKS RSK
Konig Illusion 19's with Falken 452 rubber

liking the look with the new wheels and the improved gear changes and the awesome sound of the suction kit fitted by TDI South the bug bit hard. I wanted to change the car from a standard look which u see more and more commonly on the road, so i opted for:

Mugen grill
GP kit
Mugen rear wing

Really liked how the car looked now having got TDI South to sort me out the wing which only took something like a week from saying i wanted it, to it being on my car painted and with the other goodies. well happy! Next it was service time, so i paid ABP a trip as i was in the area. while i was there i decided to get FRS and -15mm eibach springs fitted. massive difference, i drove away in what felt like a different car. much softer yet remains firm, and the rubbish factory settings of toe and camber and alignment on the wheels was now sorted. i now had a car i felt confident driving at speed.

Next was a trip down to Rye to meet the lovely cazzie at Sumopower and get my J's racing type v bonnet fitted. Couldnt wait to get there and get it fitted. The guys at Sumopower painted it in their own top notch facilties and i was faced with this on arrival:

Once fitted i was over the moon, and treated myself to a J's keyfob, J's silver metal emblems and treated by cazzie to a Sumopower keyfob and oil filler cap :D A few weeks later i was back to get my HKS legamax catback fitted. Has a great sound to it, complimented by the racing suction kit under the bonnet and it added a few ponies too.

Ok so by this point im loving the car, and it was time to go to my first meet. back down to Sumopower for an afternoon of honda civic glory. Heres one or 2 pics:

Next was a little engine bay touch thanks to Dave K. As he was stripping his charged milano beauty down to standard, i managed to bag a carbon plug cover

Car was running and looking sweet, so the next step was power. but before i did, i thought it was time to upgrade the breaks. So back down to TDI South to get a stoptech big break kit fitted in black. Instantly they felt amazing without even being broken in, and once driven for a few weeks were just outstanding. Also my number plates were starting to get tatty, so i hit demonplates and got some fresh looking plates

Breaks done, now ready for the power mods. Off to TDI South i went and got myself these fitted. RRC inlet manifold, Tegiwa exhaust manifold, Mugen throttle body, Hondata heatsheild gasket and flashpro with a custom tune on the dyno. Combined with the mods i already had, it produced a really good output of approx 240bhp and 175lb/ft of torque. The car felt like a different car yet again, lots of fun to drive. but i want more :D

Time for xmas so i treated myself to a few little things courtesy of cazzie, i got a HKS oil filler cap, new filter for the HKS RSK and a few J's racing stickers (which i cant find :() However the main present was a another trip to TDI South. i went yesterday and got the Toda balancer shaft killer kit fitted and a mugen fuel rail for some engine bay bling. Also had the new filter element for my HKS RSK fitted as the old one's been doing its job for 6k miles +. Hard to say what difference ive noticed. Nothing night and day, but it isnt a massive mod. Lost a few kg's in weight and gained an improved oil pump. It may be a placebo affect but acceleration feels slightly rawer, it feels somehow smoother as speed increases aswel. Added around 5bhp too which is great.

And here we have the current car having being washed, managed to get a cracked fog light which means something else being added to the shopping list.

So whats next? fog inserts, Toda A3 cams and valve springs and 18' Rota P1's in black.

Hope if you've read my thread you've enjoyed it and not fallen asleep ;) Big thankyou to mark, shaun, dennis and sam at TDI South, Cazzie at Sumopower and the boys at ABP for helping me transform the car. watch this space for the next addition to the silver shadow :)

Car looks mint mate.

I love that bonnet.

Does it sit flush with the wings?
yeah its a perfect fit, however as you can see towards the front end there's a slight gap whereas at the window end there isnt. but its nothing more than the gap you get with the oem bonnet and i think it just depends exactly how you fit it coz dave (r555) has more of an even fit from window to grill. its top notch quality

thank you! your more than welcome to have them but you wouldnt want them, the kirbing is unfixable due to the cut of the wheel (i tried all the usual companies and some more obscure ones aswel) and the damage is bad but painted over by my fair hands. from a distance it looks ok.. lol

Cheers for that. Well worth the 6 week wait imo! They are awesome nevertheless.

Since breaking my foglight I'll be getting some Tegiwa inserts to replace them but that will probably be around the end of the month. Think they look really cool plus its a good place to have a cold air intake.

yeah i like how they look, plus ive used my fogs probably once in 15 months so its safe to say im not bothered about having them. id go for the mugen ones but theyre near 300 quid with vat and thats rediculous for a bit of frp. tegiwa ones are 100 i think and look ok.
