Hi all.

I've recently purchased a 2009 Civic hatch (they call them an 'Si' downunder, god knows why...) and I'm absolutely loving it.

Only thing is, the rear end makes a metallic knocking/clunking noise. I'm well aware of the different known suspension 'issues' that everyone seems to have, but this doesn't seem to be one of them...

The knock seems to occur on uneven ground, more than anywhere else. I notice it the most when driving on gravel roads, and when driving over 'patched up' bitumen roads with an uneven surface.

When I first heard it, I thought it was either the rear parcel shelf jiggling around; or the spare tire not secured properly. And believe me, no amounts of strategically placed pieces of rubber or foam in these areas seem to make a difference...

Has anybody had a similar experience? This is kind of driving me nuts. :D

It could be the rear seats rattling in their floor fixings - they seem to lose their 'grip' on the seat over time.

I'm surprised you can hear it over all the other squeaks, rattles and bangs from the interior plastics to be honest! :)
