Some of you might have a creak in the back left or right floor plan, apparently coming from the suspension.

Thanks to PCR for the help on how to simulate the creak:

First press the inside then the outside of the floor plan.
Press your back in the door opening and push your foot on the floor plan inside.
Then press the sill in or on the outside of the door opening and there is the creak.
You can repeat the procedure.
Same thing happens when, the car flexes coming from a driveway or other torsion stress.

My dealer fixed several cars having this problem. This is his explanation:
It is caused by 2 metal panels creaking “touching” where the spot weldings are. The trick is to “bend” a bit the panels, so that there is more space between the panels.
First remove the door sill and lift the carpet, then around the seat belt anchor:
Use a piece of wood and a hammer and hit “massage” the wildings until the creaking is gone.
I think a hard rubber hammer or wooden hammer could also be used.
In the pictures you see the location.

My car has been OK for about half a year now.
I think this is only relevant to 5dr Civ.

Good luck
Stef

Once again Stef, thankyou. I have just tried this, one firm tap with a piece of wood and a 1kg hammer and the creaking has gone.
Fantastic!
