hey guys

I am getting this noise from the side mirrors. If I press this part of the mirror (attached picture) it makes a creaking sound. That same creaking noise comes up when braking under 20 kph..

Do you have this in your type r?

I had a creaking problem when it was auto folding, only way to sort it is pop off the plastic cap, it's quite hard to pop off and you got to be careful not to break it as well! and spray some WD-40 or oily lubricant to the centre swivel/joint and it should solve your problem.

mine is auto folding mirror..so u mean it is an option for European type r?

anyway, where is the plastic cap? I'm a noob.. do I use my hands to pull it off?

no no lol mines auto folding too, I was saying when it folds in it creaks.

The plastic cap is the mirror cap, I drew an arrow on your picture.

I used my fingers to remove it, slightly grip it n pull up a little so you get a slight gap and carefully stick your fingers in and pull it if you don't mind a little scrape and pain, be careful when removing the cap because it is quite tight, the side indicator is attached so once the cap is off either move it aside or disconnect the plug as shown in the illustration.
