Hi all,
Can anyone shed some light on this problem.
I have horrible creaks from the rear of my car when my handbrake is on. I notice it most when getting in and out of the car, and especially when the car is on a hill! Anyone had this?

Just check that the handbrake is on properly. If the handbrake is not holding the car you will get slight movement and it can sound like creaking when you get in or out of the car. Leave your car in gear when parked up just in case the hand brake doesn't hold it (known issue).

May be worthwhile getting the hand brake checked.

I agree with Staffs, I noticed creaking in the exact same situations as Ash until I started pulling the handbrake slightly higher

Edit: When I first got my car, I tried not to pull the handbrake too high to prevent stretching its cable. It seems I wasn't pulling the handbrake high enough to secure the car during the first few weeks hence the creaking noises
