I got a 2006 Honda Civic 1.8 I-VTEC EX at the weekend and am just trying to work around all the great toys and gadgets it offers (previously owned a Honda S2000 where it is quite the opposite with just heating and a radio!). When driving in to work this morning I put the headlights on as it was slightly dark and murky however the dashboard and sat nav displays dimmed. This is great, don't get me wrong, but they were so dim i could hardly see them. Is it possible to adjust the brightness of the dashboard at all?

I am aware of the ability to adjust the brightness of the sat nav screen (which is on full anyway) but from what I can tell this doesn't affect the brightness of the dashboard itself.

AHA, perfect, thanks, will try it later. Knew it would be a simple answer and feel a bit of a fool for asking now. I am a typical guy who likes to refer to the instruction manual as the very last resort! ;) Thanks again!

My god another one like me! .... Drives me crazy if it's not up right... The other half thinks I'm mental lol
I have OCD in that respect too, i stupidly mentioned to the mrs about the dual heating temperature thing and I already hate it if the 2 temperatures aren't the same and ive only had the car for 24 hours!

Im the exact same with that 1. Anyone that adjusts the temp on the passenger side gets warned as i put it back and if they do it again they are liable to get thrown out!! Might unplug the buttons when i have the door card of to fit some new speakers.:)

but isn't that the point, so driver and passenger get the air temperature they both find comfortable? OK, if one is 16 and the other 26C it will never be correct but a few degrees different is feasible.

But i have OCD in that i like things to be neat, tidy and orderly. Seeing 2 different temperatures means there is no continuity and as such, i dislike it. I did say i was weird with OCD type things! haha

I'm another one who doesn't like the dual zone climate set points to be different, I tell the other half off as I press the 'Dual' button to make them the same again!

Never noticed the brightness knob being the wrong way round though, will probably obsess about that now lol
