It's a common gear box upgrade for USDM & EDM K20 series Civics to replace oem 4th-5th-6th gears with JDM DC5's shorter gears.

Pre facelift EP3 owners say that 4th gear it's ok to fit but 5-6 you'll need FN2's 5-6 sleeve set.

Fg2 US SI owners say that a 3-4 DC5 sleeve set is needed and all this is a bit confusing!

Does anyone knows by his one experience what is needed to fit DC5 4-5-6 gears on an FN2 gearbox????

Thanks

yes, probably more than 500 pounds, plus labour
Thats not as bad as i thought tbh, i know labour is going to be the most expensive part but i was thinking of buying an lsd, clutch and flywheel and the 4,5,6 gears and add them all at once??

This would bring down the labour cost a tiny bit.

the 5th and 6th synchros are the same dc5 = Fn2 = Fd2

Super GT Ltd.

the 3 - 4th synchro set is different. You have to change to the Dc5 one:
23623-PNS-305/315

Super GT Ltd.

you don't need this on the Ep3, only on the Fd2/Fn2

So: 4, 5, 6th countershafts and mainshafts + 3-4th synchro set from Dc5 23623-PNS-305/315

so is it 305 or 315? what's the difference?

There were, I think, 3 revisions of this part from honda.
The 315 is the last one. this have now carbon synchros. The first revisons didn't have.

5.1 diff is standard
5.062 in the fn2, i was having a browse at the difference between fn2 ratio's and dc5.

Dc5 FD is 4.780 explains why it feels so fast. Would it be better swap the FD or just leave??

I was looking at 5.1 FD aswell, wasn't sure if it would affect shortening the gears adding the 5.1.

1.517 3rd Gear Ratio
1.147 4th Gear Ratio
0.921 5th Gear Ratio

Excellent, subscribed to that thread, very informative albeit from the troll and person who didn't quite get what was being proved.

I'm guess some people lack the common sense to understand things right infront of their face.
