Quick tinternet search........

What Do Insurance Companies Class As A Modification?
Insurance companies will class any change to a car after it has been manufactured as a modification. Some insurance companies will also class factory fitted extras as modifications, so always check this with your insurer.

OEM wheels- no- regardless of a crash theyre going to be replaced with oem wheels. Just be a case of powdercoating or painting them again yourself.

Aftermarket wheels- Yes- the Giveaway is in the name- aftermarket=mod

The wheels are the same so they are not a mod.

You cant really use the anything changed from the factory on consumables as a modification either, otherwise using halfords oil filters and different brand tyres would count as mods.
