A bit late posting, but when I purchased my 2.2 Type S GT, it was very knotchy.Do new synchromeshes need running in?
No worries! I randomly get a combination of notchy/crunching and no feedback when changing to 3rd gear. By no feedback, I mean the gearstick would go into 3rd gear too easily as I could not feel the gear engaging. Whenever I felt this, the 3rd gear would pop out most of the time.Sorry to hijack but did you mainly get the notchy change when you were changing in anger / VTEC?
My 3rd gear issues usually happened during the first half of the rev range regardless of whether the engine/gearbox is warm or coldJust picked my 07 fn2 and it feels sweet 90% of the time driving normally, it will only occasionally not feel right and crunch or have a double feel. However when giving it some beans it seems much more prominent and really seems to need forcing in! I'm not too sure if engine speed should affect the gear change but this is defiantly the case.
Have your local Honda dealership to look at it and see what they say olice:Its never popped out on me yet though, starting to wonder if I just have a dodgy box, I have honda warranty.
sounds like the clutch is dragging.. in other words not fully disengaging making gears are harder to select and when you select when stationary the car can creep or move ... could be adjustment..i tested an R this weekend and thought 3rd gear was terrible (as was the rest of the car tbh) but when stationary if you selected third i could feel the car move slightly...
any ideas ??
i only ask cause i'm looking to buy one hopefully and i know all about honda gearbox problems, but that was new to me !!
