hi guys, ive got a problem. ive just exported my 2007 type S to new Zealand, after taking 3 months to get here it arrived with a flat battery. the car will start and runs as norm and the doors lock and unlock as normal. however the alarm doesn't activate when locked. no flashing indicators and you can lock someone in and they can unlock from the inside without the alarm sounding. would love an answer from you guys to avoid going to honda as they quoted my 750 NZ$ (£375) for rear brake pads!!!!

I think it was down to a bonnet or boot switch not working.
If they dont appear shut to the alarm....it wont activate.
It assumes boot or bonnet is still open.

Smoe just dont work properly

Bump. My car has same problem. If anybody can think of what it could be, it would be a
Great help!

Thanks
had this problem myself on type R i found it was the bonnet catch,
open your bonnet and then close the catch with a screwdriver so you can see if the microswitch has been triggered on the catch, if it has'nt bend the tab slightly
to ensure it is being pressed in when you close the bonnet.
you can even press it in with a screwdriver and try arming the alarm if it arms
you have found your problem :popcorn2:
let us know how you get on

Tried it. Nothing changed :( also checked fuses.
Starting to wonder wether i actually have an alarm!
No flashing indicators when i lock the car. I press the lock
Button once and the doors lock, if i press it twice, nothing
Changes. Although when i checked in the dark, there was a very
Slight flash from the door mirror indicator at the edge. Only noticed
it *** looking close at the mirror.

Any ideas? I have a 2007 type s if that makes any difference?

All the indicator lights should flash once when you unlock and 3 times when you press lock twice.

Are you pressing the lock button ? :D
Coudl also be a key fob issue too.

Nope none of the indicators flash when unlocking or locking. I have tried both sets of fobs and its the same with both.

First click locks the doors and arms the alarm, second click (3 to 5 seconds after the first) dead locks the doors.

I'm sure (but will need to double check) that the indicators flash on the first click.

If you have a Tupe-S GT then you should have an interior & perimeter alarm otherwise you just have a perimeter alarm.

You can do a quick test to see if you alarm is arming -
Click the key fob once, wait 30 seconds (to give the alarm time to activate), then unlock the drivers door with the key (not pressing the unlock button). When you open the door the alarm should sound.

If it doesn't then it could be that one of the doors, boot or bonnet are not closed properly

Do they have a built in rechargable ?
Do vaguely remember something about how to change the battery.
Not sure it was the alarm but cant think what else it was.

Yes its a GT model. Is there a good way to check wether the boot or bonnet are shutting properly? I have just bought the car and the garage gave it a full service, also said they put a new battery on it as it was dead. Could this be related? Ive tried disconnecting the new battery and leaving for 30 secs before reconecting in the hope to reset it. Still no flashing indicstors or red LED on dash *** locked.

Ive also done the alarm test. Opened door with key and no alarm. Also locked with fob when sat in the car, waited and then moved about and even tapped the sensors and still nothing.
