hi guys i have purchased new rubber mats for my civic but cant fit them as the cloth mat on the drivers floor side have a flat metal bar with two prongs sticking up to hold the cloth mat in place.i removed the mat and the bar has a flat piece that dissappears under the seat in through the carpet.any one removed this piece or have any idea,s.thanks in advance guys

That's strange... I bought new mats for my FK3 and all I had to do was unscrew the present "locks" and reposition them for the new mats.

They simply screw into the old "under-mat"

Are the mats you got for a pre-2009 Civic?

When I bought my 56 Type-S I ordered some Type-S mats with it. Upon picking up the car I was told that they can only source mats for 2009 onwards now as the floor plan changed slightly.

They cut some of the 2009 mats down and charged me £60 but they looked shocking and didn't fit properly so I got a refund.

hi guys saw a thread on how to remove it got to remove plastic seat rail cover then undo the bolt thanks for the reply,s

judt pull the plastic cover off near the seat rail to expose the end of the rail, you will then see the screw/nut that is holding the bracket in place .
simply undo and remove..

Oh, My 2007 FK3 doesn't have that bar... Unless you mean somewhere else ?

hi mate the bar sits just in front of the seat towards the drivers door as it drops down to the floor pan on mine you dont seem to have it.i cant leave it in as fouls the new mats i bought.there is a thread onsite showing a pic of said bar.
