I have just traded my Type S 2010 in for a 12 month old 2.2 i-DTEC Manual. Can anybody tell me what the econ button does? Does it just make the display change colour or is there more to it?

Also can the function that causes the engine to stop when putting the handbrake on and engaging neutral be permanently disabled, rather than pressing the button every time I start up.

Thanks for that. I did notice the throtle was strange with it on, but thought I was imagining it.

Yea best to save eco for those relaxing long journeys and the gain will be the most too.

I got in an 8G the other day and couldn't work out why the car wouldn't start. Even started putting my foot on the clutch like in my 9G...before I remembered that old start button (in addition to turning a key!!!)

In my case it's an age thing

Did it again yesterday. This car is not one you can just jump into and set off. I find it's a small series of pre-flight checks first.
