I was driving along yesterday wondering why my car was so chilly when I glanced at the dash and noticed it was apparently 40C outside! It's certainly not that warm in Yorkshire, and I've noticed it increases with engine temps.

Has the sensor fallen out of place? Is it an easy fix? It wouldn't bother me except that it messes with the climate control.

Never mind, just found the answer on here!

It might also mess with the fuel efficiency on start up.
I heard that some cars use this sensor for the engine to control the amount of air needed
Like a electronic PGM-FI choke.

Mine rises to 20c'ish when engine is up to temp and stationary for a period of time.
