I only picked up my Type R on Friday and still finding my away around it.

Should the engine fan be cutting in and out so much, the car has been standing for 3 or 4 hours or even overnight and the fan cuts in after a few mins i know the temp gauge moves up quick is this normal?

If you have the AC or climate control on then yes.
The AC chucks out heat in fron tof the radiator so the fans must be on to cool both systems.
If you sit stationary for 5 mins the engine temps will pick up high enough for the fans to kick in too at these current UK temps.

It's the A/C fan and it's only doing this if you have the climate control on Auto.

If you set the A/C to off the fan will not start, and if you have the A/C on but not Auto, it will run all the time.

Leave the climate control on Auto, don't worry about the fan.

The fan will come on if you turn the key on full and the engine is hot. Look at your centre display, is AIRCON ON displayed, if so turn it off and the fan should not come on as often. Press AC button to turn it on and off.

Same. Engine is cold, radio is on, after a minute or 10, the fans start to blow.

I think this sounds normal to me. I've noticed that with my Honda the temp gauge doesn't go over half way and stay at a constant temperature, always stays within 1/4 and 1/2. On my previous car a Peg 306, the gauge went 3/4 of the way up before the fan cut in.
