Hi all,

I would to get some advise from some of the seasoned members on the form.
Or anyone who had any experience with this.
I've got my self a Hondata GP N ECU and I'm going to do the Hondata air box mod with a drop in filter HKS or Do - Luck.
I'm going to get a Mani which one not to sure yet doing my research on the forum about these along with a zorst. Waiting to see what the TDi offering is going to be, otherwise it's the Miltek or HKS.

The question I have is it going to benefit me by fitting FD2 cams or am I best to get an alternative ? If so what do I go with.
More importantly will the GP N ECU be sufficient to get the gains from the mods and the cams.

Ps fantastic forum by the way.
Thanking in advance for your replies.
If I have done something wrong point me in the right direction please!

I dont think the Group N will work safely with an extensive mod list like that especially because of the cams. I would definately get Flashpro... Also with the group N even if it does work safely you will never get the full gains from the mods.

I think every CTR needs to start off on flashpro. With a tuneable ECU you will get the max gains from each mod after the flashpro.

Best thing is to get everything at once as that will save on remaps.

edit: Oh and welcome to the forum =) Hope you enjoy it!

Hi there Onweed. Thank you for your welcome and reply mate.
The forum is superb and been on it just about every night, swatting up on all the info. I was thinking along the same lines on the flashpro to support the mods. Got excited when I saw the GP N ECU and bought it! I've read about that this ECU could cope with breathing mods then decided to add cams To list aswell. Hence the question. Don't wanna do any damage to the engine just save a few quid.Looks like it's gonna go back up for sale then.
Thanks for your advice on getting all the bolt ons and the map done at the same time. You know how it is you just want put the new goodies on and try them out lol

Any experience or advice on the type of cams I should go for

fd2 cams are about as good as it gets without uprating the springs and stuff. like onweed says get all your mods together and fit them at the same time as mapping. i would look at the rrc? inlet mani as well its quite cheap and gives good gains and maybe the cpl cai? you will be able to run the group n map for some fun before you get your bits together. so in summary if it was me (i dont own a ctr but do read about them) cpl cai, fd2 cams, rrc, tegiwa decat mani, a catback zorst and a tune for your hondata. you may wish to consider a larger throttle body as well.

im sure someone who owns a ctr will correct me if im wrong!

Thanks guys. I did originally consider the supercharger, then decided to stay NA, the good thing is if I decide to supercharge at a later date then these mods will still be compatible and enhance the SC. So tempted to SC but the pennies will not allow just now. As would defo need get a LSD to get the best out of the conversion.
Just need to get the bits now. Step by step and it will all come together
Can't wait though!

Other things that havnt been mentioned that also transform the car are:

Eibach springs or coilovers and FRS (Geometry settings etc)

Upgrade to braided brake lines and better fluid (Motul RBF600 seems to be very popular) along with new pads and discs completely change braking.

Just other things you may want to consider =)

Let us know how you get on.

Got the powerslot 350 disc conversion with hel braided lines to go on
And gonna get the eibachs and frs done in the new year front and rear

Yeah looks like GP N will go in the new year and go for flashpro to get the best out of the mods

Thanks again guys

Ok so brakes and suspension already covered, good stuff =)

Yea defo get rid of the Group N and get flashpro... You can always use the Group N map on the flashpro until you have all your goodies and get everything done and mapped at once as multiple mapping sessions get costly over time.

I know what its like getting new stuff and wanting to get it on straight away but trust me waiting is the best thing unless you have cash to burn :D

Anyways good luck with the car.. your headed in the rright direction =)
