Avoid something like this....you must have nylock nuts or you will be tightening them every two weeks

there are a few changes required if installing a 180mm intercooler i have taken these from syx's thread;

Couple of key things I will add:
The vertical 192mm on the plan needs to be 200mm to give clearance without being dangerously close to having nothing to grip onto.
The final alu section to the IC which was 73mm on the plan for the shorter IC needs to be longer, I used 120mm as I had a 240mm piece I just cut in half but I would suggest 100mm as a minimum.

Nice one.

Just to add, the third photo above shows me reusing the black SMIC pipe that I've cut in half. With the additional joiner that was missing, you are able to route alu/silicon sections to the engine intake and that black SMIC pipe is not necessary.

So i attempted to fit mine today. Didnt go well. Has anybody fitted one with a gp splitter? I had to take the grill off and the two pipes stick out the splitter. Any advice before i put the oem back on tomorow?

Cheers guys

Hi Guys,

Gonna have a go at fitting mine this week.(bricking it by the way) Few questions for those who have done it.

1. What is the threaded bolt for that comes with the kit.
2. What is the intercooler attached too.
3. Anybody actually want to do this for me.lol

Cheers Guys

1) The bin, it's unnecessary.
2) It sits neatly on top of two metal plates, I haven't actually attached mine in any way to anything and it's nice and snug.
3) You'll enjoy it... just spend some time getting all the piping sorted before you touch the car.

Hi guys,

Just fitted mine today but there is a strange noise coming from the front end and I am sure I am now down on power. This was only tried on a small run and the weather is extremely hot.

Have you made sure you've tightened up with no leaks anywhere? Soapy water on the joins will show up as lots of bubbles if you have.

Bit of a thread revival I see.
Now might as be as good a time as any to ask this.
What are the final dimensions decide upon as optimal for the derv? 180mm by ?? or 140 mm by ??
Also, is it core or overall dimensions? I'm aware of there being multiple threads on the subject, I'm kinda confused as to what was decided as being the best option.
