Ok so I've had the relay changed for a Mitsuba and had the system regassed as it was empty - but the compressor isn't engaging, so I've bought a second hand compressor to have fitted.

Anyone know roughly what I should expect to pay to fit - so I know if any quotes are good or not? I'm assuming they'll be able to take the new gas out and put it back in so I'm not paying for new gas?

Is there any way to quickly test this compressor to make sure I'm not fitting a dud?

Managed to get the compressor for £40. Took it to get fitted and all the gas from regas number 1 (which apparently showed no leaks) had escaped out of the knackered condenser.

So new condenser for another £100, full system test and regas and it's working again.

Cost me around £400 all in to eventually get it sorted! And that's with a cheap 2nd hand compressor! No more steamy windows though.
