Hi had my fk2 r fit about 3 weeks and today noticed when in the motorway at light throttle between 58 and 70 mph I get a high pitched whistle noise that increases with speed.
If i come off the gas it goes away instantley. Doing my head in. Any ideas before I take it to Honda.
Ps it does it in 5 and 6th.
Cheers eshy

Ac is known to whistle, I sometimes hear a slight whistle, I switch the blowers off & it disappears.

I had this too. Sounds like something around gearbox. If you put your foot on the clutch it stops. I never tried switching off AC. I told Honda. Their magic ears couldn't hear it. So guessing it's yet another Civic "feature". Still, distracts from all the other unwanted noises filling the cabin.

Thanks for the input.
I'll see what Honda say when get a chance as night shift next 2weeks.
Might get them to square the steering wheel up too as thats about 10mm to the right...

mine too... again. dealer didnt fix it last time. track felt fine, just wheel angle wasnt right from factory. I did mine DIY; just moved the rack across 1/8th turn on each trackrod.
now it's out again (after 5 months) I'm not sure where to get mine done locally as the CTR wont get in/out of the carpark at my usual place.

I have a lot of rattle especially around the rear wiev mirror

Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
look at the HFT module in the roof, and also unclip the sunvisor. my driver side rattles if it's at a certain angle (inline with A-pillar angle) - rattle is caused by the hard plastic collar on the visor, that clips into the catch.

Hi new to this haveing same issue on fk2 just wondered if you had found a cure ? Mines been in Honda for 2 weeks they could hear it but couldn’t find out where it was coming from ? Lots of emails from my dealer to Honda who says they’ve never heard of this issue before ? ? but on a plus side they did find a fault on the Laf sensor and replaced
Cheers

My fuel pump whistles. You can here when you switch the ignition on but without starting the engine. Step on the throttle and you hear the sound goes with the throttle. Put the car in a garage and it will be much louder.

Never did get the noise looked at. Maybe at next service.
Steering wheel squared itself up when I got new tyres on the front. Been fine for months now.

When I took mine in to Honda like I said the mech could hear it they took there fk2 out to see if it was a normal sound but the noise wasn’t there on there ? My dealer went back and fourth to Honda UK but they kept saying no other dealer had reported this problem so when you do go in to Honda can you mention this as Honda won’t do anything until more cases are reported cheers

I asked my dealer if this is a normal sound for the fk2 Type r engine the dealer has a red fk2 in for sale they took that out to see if it made the same noise it didn’t it’s 6months older with more miles on? So they’ve emailed Honda again stating the noise is there and what do they suggest ? So looks like mine is going back in soon ?

if you get a good outcome, try to get a reference number. i'm sure it'd help my dealer track the fault easier...

Hi just a update got mine back today after been in another week Honda have now recognised the noise as another fk2 has also gone on there report system with same noise they are now putting it down to the chacteristics of that perticular engine ? funny how the one at the dealer doesn’t do the same ? So the more cases reported better chance of Honda doing something ?? I will update if anything else happens
Cheers
