Got some aluminium tape for the airbox to make a "cold box". Trying to decide on an air filter, dunno whether to go oem, green cotton or k&n. Itg or piper cross have crossed my mind but I'm unsure on foam filters

Gone for a green cotton filter, seem to be popular.

A nice s2000 filter sat on top of the bottom half of the airbox is also a nice little MOD for winter :)

And the sound is amazing , just need a breather filter for the rocker

Hondata airbox mod done, just waiting for the green cotton filter to arrive.

I've made an "icebox" :laugh2:

First commute in the ep3 today, definitely better damping than the Fn2, the Fn2 had better steering feedback. I will try and address that with frsu and springs etc. Engine feels more aggressive but probably because the vtec point is nearly 2k more than my mapped Fn2.
Looking forward to working on this car >:)

Looking at a dc sports catback, has a silenced b pipe. Are they loud? I want an exhaust quieter than my milltek non resonated.

Green cotton filter and a brand new full windscreen wiper set arrived this morning. The front wipers are terrible at the moment, rusted body and the blades are dire. Looking forward to putting all this on tonight.

Scrub the DC sports exhaust, gonna probably source a 2.5" B-pipe, keep the oem look for now.
Tyres needed, seems not many if any semi slicks in oem size of 205/45/17. :serious:
I can get em in 215/45/17, or if I stick oem I'll get some Bridgestone S001 or F1 asymmetric 3.

Got a brand called Jingo or something like that on the rears atm. Got Khumo on the fronts but only 3mm left.

How are you finding the move from FN2 to EP3?

I've still got my Ep3 for Ring trips and track days. Took it out on the weekend and it's definitely NOT the same car at all. Fn2 for everyday and Ep3 for track days, great combo to appreciate the qualities (and failings) of both cars.

Sack the Hondata airbox mod off and just get a Teg M intake! It's the best thing I ever did to mine.

Oh and by the way if you want an OEM looking tailpipe, genuine 2.5" inner bore and not council estate chav sounds - go for a Piper. Got one on mine, cheap at £150 second hand and it's perfect. 93db at 4k at Cadwell noise test.

Cheers bud. I'll look into the zorst, seen a tegiwa intake on eBay just think the price is a bit meaty. I'll probably end up trying loads :laugh2:
Does the tegiwa give noticeable grunt or just noise? My gutted airbox with foil wrap, high flow filter, caf and throttle body thermal gasket will keep me busy and at least 1 bhp 0:)
I find the pick up in the ep3 stronger and more stable on the roads, but the Fn2 gave more feedback when cornering.

Keep an eye out for a second hand teg m intake. I promise you its worth it. Noticeable mid range improvement and the noise is miles better than any chavvy open cone or cai. Ive had a few different intakes on mine and the teg m will never be Replaced (unless I got a cheap ARC).

Ep3 steering is awful tho, massively improved in the fn2. Its better now with eibachs, frsu, poly caster increase bushes and rcas but still a bit lifeless compared to most cars. Tyre choice is a big factor too.

Engine is massively more responsive with the cable throttle and feels much more eager to rev without the weird balancer shafts like in the fn.

Ride is a lot nicer in the ep too (if you do down any harsh roads at least)

You got any insert mounts or torque damper in yours?
I'll get some decent tyres on and then go for camber bolts (eibach), camber arms (hard race), springs (not sure which but don't want to drop much).

Would you go 215 tyres on yours?

Energy engine mount inserts and powerflex gearbox mount. Well worth doing.

Eibach camber bolts and dme rear arms (grinspeed did it all in with frsu)

Eibach Abp springs (prolines don't drop at all. Maybe 5mm on the ep)

Tyres you'll be fine with 215. But I've got 215 45 17 on evo 7 wheels (et38 8j)

225 won't fit tho.

As said above, I don't think the FN2 is a bad car mate, just does things differently. It's a bit like comparing my DC2 to an EP3. Totally different animals but share the same DNA.

I liked my Fn2, it was just not so good on uneven roads (most roads). It was more refined pretty much everywhere else. I have never liked digital dashes, always preferred dials.

Perhaps I could look at a K20 Jazz build project :grin2:
