How do you do this then? There's nowt in the how-to section.

If you know how to and can post photo's then please do.

From memory there are 4 bolts in the boot area (under caps), you will also need to unclip the rear arches up to just over half way. Look under the bumper as there are clips and screws that will need removing. Unbolt the rear side lights too. Where the bumper meets the rear wing it is clipped, and was a bit of a git to release, trim removal tools help. Good luck.

Cheers Flashy - thanks for the info and pics. It does look a right PITA to do, but do-able with the right amount of patience.

Bloody lorry nerfed the rear of mine the other evening and while it hasn't cracked or repositioned the bumper, some of the clips underneath have been broken. I need to remove it to find out which ones.

The tailgate wasn't as fortunate though. It is twisted and will need to come off to be assessed by Insurance Co.

Ouch, hope you get it sorted. The bumper removal isn't that bad tbh, wedge some old towels or rags at either end by the wings as you start to remove it, or get a second pair of hands. I was concerned the bumper would scratch the rear wings as I removed it.

Thanks again for the tip Flashy. It's all going to be done by the repair bodyshop now. The foreign Truck Driver's insurance company *look* as they're going to pay in full to get the work done. I should hope so cos the estimate came to well over £2,000 +VAT.

Nearly there. Only 5 months later.

AXA UK sent an engineer out to inspect the damage a couple of weeks ago. He said, ''no problem, I'll get the repairs authorised''. He couldn't believe it had taken so long to get to this stage.

The Third Party Insurance(AXA Belgium) will be paying, and I hope they don't pay the bodyshop before the work is started.

I believe that they should settle directly with me, as I'm the customer/victim/claimant. That way, I can pay the bodyshop upon completion if their workmanship is satisfactory. I have asked for clarification from AXA but have not had a reply yet to the email that I sent them.

Been without my FN2 all month so far, and miss it.

One small problem though. Can you re-use the lower rear perspex screen? The bodyshop want to do this as there is a long backorder for a new part from Honda. I understand it to be a non reusable item.

I guess it isn't re-usable then as it's all gone very quiet from the bodyshop. So far, I've been told that the new bumper is on and that the new tailgate frame is on the car but nothing has been rebuilt onto it.

I hope they haven't gone and done something very wrong with my car whilst it is in their care, otherwise there will be a very angry man coming to visit.

Looks like I'll be in the courtesy Corsa well into January.

Ok. Two weeks of daily useage for shakedown tests to see if anything has moved or slipped. Having had to re-attach one of the rear wheelarch trims back on after it decided to spring off the clips, I managed to have a good look around the tailgatge in particular on Friday.

No water leaks, which is good.

I have a snag list for the bodyshop.

The main gripe being the two rubber bumper stoppers that are located on the bottom inside of tailgate are in very differently to each other. The drivers side one was fully screwed in, and the passenger side one was barely screwed in.

I duly screwed in the LH one as far as possible and closed the tailgatge. This results in the tailgate not sitting right at all, even with the new plastic skin panel on. In fact, it bears all the resemblance to the position that the original tailgate took on once it had been hit.

A word or two will have to be aimed at the Insurers and the bodyshop.

And there's more..... I really think those people don't know what they're doing. How many chances do I give them before Instructing the Insurance Co[who are paying by the way] that I'll be going to a different place to remedy all the niggles?

Not going well then by the sound of it :(

I'd be letting the body shop know face to face and if they aren't compliant then take it up with your insurance co.
