I’m going to ask Paul to do me an eco map as a secondary just for winter. Stops the wheels lighting up too much. If ECUTEK is capable of this

Mine is n/a ecutek tuned, standard lsd box.
Consider sound deadening sheets - it worked in my case(I think I’m getting older).

Oh I’ve looked into it in detail mate, I’ve got the whole kit with the load mass vinyl and closed cell foam already in my amazon basket.
Late summer I’ll strip the interior out and do it

I've thought of this just for use for communting.

They recon a 10% fuel saving at national speed limit, being lower revs, and less noise.
something I will definitely look into if my gearbox gets refreshed.
Not that I’m fussed about fuel, but a pleasant cruise volume at national would be decent.
sweet spot seems to be around 65 as it is

I'm more looking at the idea that I currently get 40mpg with the stock gear, and I figured being able to drop it from 3k rpm to about 2,500 would help gain another 5 or so mpg. Nice thing being of course that the other 5 gears are the same still, so it's still a Type R, just with a bit more of a GT capability for my long drives.

Sounds a pretty appealing mod. The gear is a couple hundred quid then whatever it would cost to replace it so it’s not bank shattering if done at the same time as a clutch or synchros etc hmm
