Apparently by next year yeah. But tbh, you can just unplug the ballast and install the old halogen bulbs for the test then switch them back once it's passed.

i didnt realise, but the more ive looked into it apparently they are going to become illegall. something to do with there not designed to go into the type off headlamps people are fitting them into, so u end up with a dodgy beam patterm apparently and dazzle oncomeing drivers. im sure aslong as it was emmiting a standard white light and not a blue colour youd get away with. just so happens im a registered m.o.t tester anyway ;) lol

Mr JP all the way - mine are fitted correctly (by a mechanic to be sure) and I have driven my motor over 1k with them in now - usually when dark and not been pulled or 2nd looked - and they are very effective; but not ridiculously bright :)

you will not regret it!

They'll only pull you if they're a stupid colour rating (blue/purple) or are wrongly aligned which, as I mentioned in the thread you linked, is fair enough since it's dangerous.

They are having a BIG crack down on them and mainly goin for cars that dont have projector lenses as these typically 9 times outa 10 will have an aftermarket kit fitted.

Does that mean I'll be pulled for having OEM Honda HIDs? That could get tedious...

Yup, i'd be prepared for it tbh. Its the easiest way for the cops to spot someone with aftermarkets (normal reflector lenses), but since you (like myself) have OEM's and the washer jets are visible, it should make the stop a little quicker.

Just sod's law really.
