went for a spirited drive with a mate who owns a DC2.

both our cars are stock pretty much, i have flashpro custom tune and he has a cone filter and LSD (is that standard on those/?)

Anyway i could pull away from him slightly in 2nd and third (my vtec comes in at 3800, but he would hav no trouble catching up.

One thing i noticed was the roar of his vtec!!

My god, i could hear it screaming behind m with my window down a bit, my tunes quite loud and also in vtec.

Fn2 vtec crossover is pathetic compared to DC2.

Just to be clear we were not racing, just driving normally and to the speed limit.

Oh and his car handles about a thousand times better than mine, mine would slide out on tight bends whereas his would be glued to the floor.

You've also got to remember the DC2s have B18 engines, quite different to the K20s we have and yes, the VTEC crossover on those is quite aggressive!

The FN2 is more of a mainstream car you can use every day. The DC2 soon becomes tiring as soon as you start doing any sort of mileage because of the ride, noise and steering.

As Dezi said, they are known for the handling, but at the end of the day they are two completely different cars from completely different eras.

The b16b and b18's do sound a lot better plus they scream right up to the red line. I had both engines in my ek9 I found the b16b better as it really rev'ed high and was very loud. As for handling the standard fn2 is poor but the dc2 is the best handling fwd car, most come with an LSD just some UK models don't they were an optional extra. Only advise is get some springs for your car and a fast road setup then go for another drive and see how you get on

According the Parkers:

UK DC2 is 187bhp weighing 1140 kg (ac+alarm)
UK FN2 is 198bhp weighing 1357 kg (GT)

12% more power to weight

Wont go as fast....but will get there faster.
Only reason you are any where near is the 6 spd gearbox

I couldn't live with a DC2 day to day..... Too raw.

However, I have LSD, eibach's and FRSU, ...... Best of both worlds?

The Integra's are better than the ek, the B18 is better than the B16 and coupe's are better than hatchbacks. I'm assuming it's from a performance point of view

Also where does the DC5 fit into all of this. I know someone who had one of these and the VTEC crossover on that was really aggressive.
