Anyone else experienced freezing shock absorbers? I have a '06 Honda Civic 1.8 Sport. Original shock absorbers we're changed at 40k km's on the meter. Now my meter is ticking at 70k km, if the temperature is -20 celcius the shocks seem totally gone.

Applies for front shocks

Bad quality :/

I think that the shocks are the key to this Civic's bad ride. They don't damp bumps or potholes well at all.

When you look at them they are quite skinny when compared with some I've seen. Whether that's part of the problem?

From my experience, all the bushings in both the rear and front suspension setup are completely stiff and doesn't flex at all at temperatures around -20 and below. Could be part of your problem? Makes the ride a feel a lot hasher, and gives constant knocking sounds (at least on my car) all the time.
