Hi there, I am looking for new pads and could use some advice. Need some more stoping power. My car is my daily so need these to be effective at low temperature. I do not use my car for track days. Ideally I would like to go under 100£ for 2 pads. Thanks

project mu ns400's are great from cold and only get better with more heat, ds2500's that i had before are nowhere near as good cold or hot.

i found the ds2500s to be awful when cold and only good when red hot, whereas the ns400s are good cold and pull my face off when hot.

i really liked them. low dust also but they couldn't take the heat and cracked.

Change the fluid, bleed the brakes and see if that helps first.

I am puting new braided lines and new fluid but also want to change the front pads as I am sure those are rubbish cheap pads

I found that DS2500s created tons of dust and now run Brembo pads on the front. They seem fine for road use.

Have EBC Yellowstuff pads fallen out of favour?

What is the difference between yellowstuf and for example red or blackstuff. This is confusing as hell :)

Basically, with EBC pads:
  • Blackstuff = OEM equivalent. Will fade when hot.
  • Greenstuff = OEM but with reduced brake dust. Will fade when hot.
  • Yellowstuff = Performance/fast road pad. Good from cold, gets better when warmed up.
  • Redstuff = Track. Needs to be hot to perform.
That's a very brief summary but should give you the general idea.
