Hi my 2.2 diesal frv went in to limpmode and I changed the fuel filter but if I put my foot down at 2500 revs it will go in limp mode if I nurse it through 2500 revs it sill stutter and keep going any help would be great thanks

You need to get the ECU error code read, then you'll have a better idea about the problem... OBD2 readers are cheap and plentiful on eBay. You could try disconnecting the battery for around 20 minutes to reset the error light/limp mode, but if the problem is still present the error will re-occur.

Hopefully the replacement fuel filter was the OE 'Honda' part (not sure who actually makes the FRV part, possibly Denso).

What diesel engine is this? What year FRV?

Its a 2007 2.2 ctdi done 104896miles mate

Try the battery disconnect trick to reset the error... you never know.

The 2.2 i-CTDi is horribly sensitive to having aftermarket fuel filters fitted (I've seen many problems reported for Civics and Accords due to this, and personally repaired 2 Accords that were faulty purely because of having aftermarket units fitted). If you didn't fit the exact one specified by Honda then my money is on this being your problem.

Definitely worth having your own obd2 reader. Especially when you have a 2.2 i-CTDi engine!

I will find out when I go to the garage wot ff thay fitted will let u no how I get on .and thanks again

Good luck. A garage will be able to read the ECU diagnostic trouble codes... fuel filter issues often result in DTCs P1065 (fuel pressure lower than expected) and/or P0087 (fuel rail pressure low).

Having re-read your original post, it looks as if you had the problem before the fuel filter was changed? If so, I'd be a little disappointed with the garage for not fixing the problem!
