Hi guys

I am having an issue with my fuel cap ( 07 fn2 GT), whenever i pull the open catch although the small piston is moving inside the fuel cap the cap doesn't release.

I had this issue 2 years ago when I bought the car but i placed a small washer under the metal catch bracket ( one torz screw hold this on) and it seemed to fix it, but now it has returned.

Also looking at my filler cap it doesn't seem to sit in the middle of the cutout in the body as if its moved, does anyone know if you can adjust the allignment from the inside of the body, I assume its accessible from inside the boat carpet etc.

Any suggestions welcome and any help is as ever appreciated

Over to you guys

Stephen

What I have been doing is putting my nectar card between the body and cap and pulling the handle opens it :)

Should be a bulletin about this, ask your dealer to fix under warranty.

My CTS done this mate.

Honda put a metal spring clip between the cap and the lock pin.

This was done to my car before I bought it but over time the clip must have closed with use, just opened it up with a screwdriver job done.

The clip might already be there and might have done the same as mine.

How big a knob do you feel at the petrol station constantly pulling the catch trying to get the cap open.

I know I did. Lol.

As I said in my previous post bud, I done a bit of tinkering with a plain screwdriver until it was opening with no probs.

I traded my CTS in 4 months ago so I can't take any pics of mine for you mate.

I feel your pain it does your head in every time you go for fuel.

I thought the cable had stretched the first time it done it until I discovered Honda supplied this clip.

Let us know how you get on mate.

I had this a couple of months ago ...

Until I could get the dealer to look at it, I made a 'special tool' for opening the cover, without damaging or scraping anything ...

Now, to your average person, this tool may look like a curiously bent teaspoon, but it has the heart and soul of a piece of ultra-high technology ! :p ...

And it works !!! (Patent Pending ) ...
