So I pull into the Shell garage to refuel pull the fuel cap lever and my fuel cap wont pop open.

Tried several times pulling the lever to no avail, had to eventually ask someone to pull it open simultaneously as I pulled the lever then I got it open.

Will have a closer look when its daylight.

Has anyone else had this problem. Is it a case of using some WD40 ?

Thanks

I had this a couple of times but managed to pull open the cap with my fingers.
I came to the conclusion the rubber tether was snagging.
Made a point of making sure it wraps around the fuel pipe properly without any twists.
Never had a problem since.

I had this fault in 2006 on my brand new 1.8 ex. Took it back and they sorted it. No problems after. while I was there someone else was there with the same problem so it may have been a problem with the earlier models.
