Hi,

I started about a year ago a thread regarding the problems I am having with the performance of my car. It feels as a fuel starvation in low revs - when the gear is in neutral position or when changing gears in low revs. Sometimes when for instance approaching red lights and breaking with gear on neutral the revs drop down to around 6k and car starts shaking almost cutting off the engine and then it rises up to around 8k within few seconds. Or when changing the gears and pressing the throttle the is a lag for a second and then the engine kicks an. I am still having the same issues despite trying everything suggested (primed the fuel system, changed fuel filter several times, EGR valve cleaned ...). I'm desperate to get it solved as it's extremely frustrating. Honda Can't tell me what the problem is either as they have done the diagnostic and everything was fine. Have you got any suggestions?

Are you ready for what I think may be the solution?
Try a new battery? Sounds daft but I have heard of it being a fix for everything you describe!
Worth a try- buy a new 'quality' battery and if it doesn't change - take the battery back :)

Hi Mattte - I think we've met ?

This could be very similar to the problem James had recently, and it was probably his EGR valve. After putting up with it for a couple of years, we tuned it with our EGR OFF solution and he's now a happy camper:

Worth considering, and maybe have a chat with him to see if it feels like the same problem.

Hi F6had - you're right, you've re-mapped my civic and it's still flying in high revs, however in low revs I'm sometimes thinking of stopping the car by the kerb, dropping the keys down the drain and taking the bus.

I red the article and it's worth considering to turn off EGR. How much would that be? Does it work with the stage 1 I have from you?

Thanks Michael - I might try this to rule out all the bizarre possibilities.

So thanks to Fahad and his Stage 2 EGR OFF remap which he installed on Sunday I feel like I have got a new car! All the problems with revs / fuel starvation are gone plus the car drives much smoother and more powerful than ever before. There is no shaking in low revs, almost no lag until turbo kicks in and also the cold start is very smooth. I have also noticed that the car has now a sporty sound as a bonus and it's really pleasure to drive it. It seems to me that all EGR does is that it brings back to engine all crap air which would normally be released via exhaust. If anyone experiences problems as I did don't hesitate and get your EGR OFF map. So after the problems with my car when I visited several garages including many visits to Honda I am now happy bunny thanks to Fahad
