Hi just back from a nice cruise.
I got a email telling me my car was due for its first service. EX Navi VTEC that came with a 5 year service plan.
I phoned my Honda dealer to arrange a date and asked if they would update my satnav I was told that would cost me £45 to do.
AT that I did not book my car in. Do all Honda dealers charge for this.
Can I take my service plan to another dealer or do I have to stay with them.
Thanks for any help.

There is no actual cost to the dealer apart from some time, about half an hour and some of that could be during a road test or does not even need to be a technician. It’s not rocket science putting a USB stick into a computer. If the dealer wants your business for the service it’s something they need to consider.

I was going to say similar to Steve.

Every year I get multiple phone/text/letter reminders from 3 dealers that my service is due. They really do want your business so a free map update should be easily negotiated.
