Hi guys!

What do you think about the use of gas additives? Please let me know your opinion, if you use and what is the result.

Looking forward to your feedback :popcorn2:

Those 'additives' that are necessary are already added to the fuel by the oil company and retailer. Therefore buying additional ones is a waste of money, unless you have a vehicle that cannot run on normal fuel (e.g. an unusually high performance engine that requires very high octane fuel).

Plenty of people might claim that they can see a benefit, but then many people also claim that homeopathic medicines are effective.:worms:

You forgot an old car before 1980

You need to get the lead substitute additive

I would love to get a late 80s model honda city turbo II 750kg with 105hp just says fun.
If i had the money i would get a a 1963 Lotus Elan S1, I just love the look of them.

Small, light, good power, convertable
Nah! old car would have to be a MKI Escort Mexico every time. Or, a Cosworth 500.

I've got to say, my '85 civic is a hoot to drive because it weighs 780kg. Sure it has comedy handling sometimes and it's a 1.3 auto, but it's still lively in a way that modern cars will never be. Old skool FTW!

As for fuel additives, I've not used them since I owned classic MGs. I know a few people who throw in some octane booster for track and drag but I think the only real world benefit is the placebo effect.

I would love to have the Honda City Turbo II.

800kg, 1.3 Turbo, 105HP.

If i really had the money I would get a Tommy Kaira ZZ-S engine from a 180sx in the middle, car weighs around 850kg, MR layout.

It would run rings around may hot hatches today.

I've used Forte Advanced Diesel System Cleaner at least once or twice a year for a number of years on a variety of cars. All have gone to high mileages with no issues such as sticking turbo vanes or EGR problems... does that count?
