it sounds funny but when i bought the car i was sure there is no glove box light intill i found this (picture below)
the thing which looks like once upon a time i was light is not even connected to anything.
i put my finger in the hole of this thing but coud not even touch any cable so how do we take the glove box out guys there is some nuts on the side and some in the corners
is it worth stripping the thing or am i just better carrying on a torch in the night
i know there is a glove bo light on sale but i dont want to deal with it if there is no cable already there to power that up ???

Looks like the cable has dropped away

The bad news is to completely remove the glove box you have to remove the centre console due to a hidden screw, but... if you release the screws/poppers you can see (top edge), the glovebox should pull out/drop just enough for you to see behind it more are slide your arm in at the top and have feel around for the cable

u scared me i dont want to cause more problems i think i will leave it i remember to change the glive box on mk4 i had to reach to one screw which was behind air con unit i end up breaking it so i will carry on usong my torch thanks for ** answer
