oh yes!,,, spend 3 and half hours putting the Gruppe M on my car...(DIY):p really please with my self, because this is my first time doing this kind of stuff!...he he!..;) it wasn't that difficult and its just matter of time!,[smilie=cheeky-grin:.
didn't have time to test drive it yesterday... went out and drive around today... and i just love it!.. its better than the factory one!.. however, it doesnt sound as good as the HKS one!.. when v-tic kicks in!,,the HKS on just sounds amazing and makes you wanna drive faster, faster and faster!!...:D:D:D the Gruppe M sound just little bit louder than the the factory and it doesn't flat spot like the HKS does!.. which is really good!.. [smilie=cheeky-grin:...the difference between the Gruppe M and the HKS is just the sound and the power it gives..!.if you dont want to spend too much money on an induction kit, go for the HKS.....

I will be getting this from TDi-North when they get them in, however I don't know when i'll be able to fit it. If this weather continues then I doubt it would be this year. Don't think my Dad would appreciate me using the garage if it was wet outside. Are you going to try and correct the little bit your not happy with?

Glad there is no flat spot to report

What I mean is, would you buy it again knowing what you know now? is the added responsivness worth the bucks?

Or should a Hondata be bought first?

Oooh, now there is a question. Wouldn't you need to have one first to comment?

I am planning on fitting the Hondata after I have the induction kit in. Then I will see how much different BHP that adds after everything else. If its not much and not really worth the money then I can flog it. Sometimes some of the mods make the engine run too lean and the Hondata is needed to bring out the full potential

I heard the Hondata ECU is a generic remap aimed at the standard type-r, and on the ozzy forum every intake used in conjunction with the ECU ment power loss.

I don't know where to start, I am also dubious after reading many reviews as to how good the Milltek exhaust system is for gains rather than noise, and no one seems to be able to answer if the Milltek is heavier than the standard exhaust?

Yeah, I think TDi-North could comment re the Hondata and ECU, however I do know that Stella did get some gains with it after his mods.

I have felt a Milltek and the standard exhuast and the standard one is more heavier, it also has more metal to it than the Milltek. I did have my car dyno'd before and after just the Milltek and apart from the noise and little bit quicker I also saw a gain of 7bhp over standard. I also know that some others on here have also seen these gains whilst using the standard airbox.

Civijason did a comparison between him and his mates one. Defo gains to be had.

Quite frankly if you want to really push the BHP then your going to need a remap, new exhaust, induction kit and maybe even a decat. This is basically what the Halfords Honda Team are offering.

No two people will have the same gains as no two cars are the same at stock

I'm skeptical too. Most people, including me, correlate price with value and so with it being £600 automatically makes me think it should be good, BUT I can't part with that sort of cash if it is mainly a placebo and not as quoted.

I need to see a Dyno before and after, or drive one.

Until then my cash will continue to earn interest [smilie=cheeky-grin:

Samco do an induction pipe for the FN2??

i'm waiting for dyno because i don't believe this gruppeM. Sorry i try 2 times with intake.I I lost the power every time. I had more power in peak but all over the rpm i lost tourqe and BHP.
Same story with my EP3 I had. Tried different Cold Air Induction pipes. None of the open filter systems produce more power in the engine bay. All that hot air never helped an engine produce more power.

The only style I have found that works is the closed system. I had a Mugen on mine and this did produce more power. Friends had the GruppeM on their EP3s and again had enjoyed the extra power.

This GruppeM looks promising. Can't wait to see the dyno charts.

It is my car that TDi North are using to test the products they sell.
I have Hondata ECU and we normally test the kit with the stock ECU and then swap to the Hondata and in every case the gains seen are better using the Hondata.

We will be doing the same with the GM as soon as they land in a few days.

Remember also as with the EP3's and DC5's you have options. The GruppeM always made best gains but the AEM was right behind it and at nearly 1/3 the price. As you have already seen people are willing to pay over inflated prices for parts so they will always sell but I would say if money was no object go for GruppeM, but if you wanted value for money, similar gains, save your money and go for the cheaper option.

(This was the old AEM CAI that mounts inside the wheel-arch though not the V2 short ram)

Fact, AEM V2 for FN2, AND HKS race kit both made 8bhp gains over stock airbox regardless of a flatspot at 3000rpm that only appears when at full throttle.;)

Looks the part, £600 is a lot of cash . I hope your dyno results make it money well spent.
