Just read about this on another thread in the braking section, seems to be a common problem. I have not experienced it myself, hopefully not in the future!!

Another member here is getting his pads and discs replaced under warranty as Honda are aware of the problem. Maybe you can try them too, if yours is in warranty...

Mine will do it too if the car has not been used for a week. I have brand new pads and discs on it. It is not a problem as it binds only for a fraction of a second as I pull away then releases.

my wifes civic ex did it after being sat on the drive all chriistmas (I had to drive everywhere using my diesel:mad:) seems to also do it after a wash. nothing to be overly concerned about though, after initial jolt the brakes work fine.

ABsolutely nothing wrong with whats happeneing. after its been released, all is fine. No need for anything to be changed unless the calipers are binding or sticking.

my calipers were not changed just the disks and pads what exactly was wrong with them i could not say !! however after leaving my car overnight i had to put the car in reverse to get off my drive it would not just roll off took my car to honda they changed the pads and disks under warranty however i can say when i did reverse off and the breaks freed themselves they made quite a large bang like something had broken and this happed everytime i left the car overnight ??????

i would take your car to the nearest honda garage and get this checked out my car is only 18 months old so in my eyes this should NOT be happening

The bang is the pads releasing from the disc. It is typical for a car that has been left for a week or two without use, but overnight is a very short period of time.
