Not really, it's only a danger if it's hanging down and you risk hitting something or if it's loose enough to come away at speed.

Thank you. It is not hanging, just bent upwards a little, and now touches the exhaust,caused by when I went over a large rock in the middle of a country road. I think I will just leave it for now since it appears to be safe to do so.

maybe dent it a bit back, so it doesn't touch the exhaust anymore. To prevent damage to the exhaust due to rubbing

Thank you. I was thinking of having a class 1 trailer hitch installed, and I note on the online instruction video the heat shired needs to be temporarily removed to do this. Maybe can get both heat shield repair and hitch installation done at the same time.
