When I saw my car at the dealers before it had been prepped - it had a large sticker saying "heats shield mod applied". Anyone know what this is?

I have to say that my car (2.2 EX) seems to have much less of that whistle and whine noise that the demo cars had.

The diesel loaner has a real whiny noise in the turbo, but this only happens from time to time - maybe when the weather is cold, but basically fairly random.

Is that connected?

The heat shield mod is to stop the Electric Steering from getting too hot if you use heat things up by towing (apparently). All diesels have it fitted as standard so nothing special; or so I was told.
